Eli Arenson is a Iceland based cinematographer known for A24's LAMB  (Un Certain Regard - Prix D'Originalité), Lee Daniels' THE DELIVERANCE, and Ishana Night Shyamalan's THE WATCHERS.​ He filmed the Cannes 2023 Special Mention winner FÁR and numerous music videos and fashion projects with artists Björk, A$AP Rocky, Mark Ronson, Cher, Kim Kardashian and Zoë Kravitz.

His work has been praised as 'immersive and soulful... recalls the enigmatic style of Béla Tarr'  (Roger Ebert), 'starkly beautiful'  (Variety) and 'arrestingly cinematic'  (THR).

He started his career as a war-correspondent and photojournalist, and is a graduate of the AFI Conservatory's MFA in Cinematography. ​ He was awarded the Icelandic Academy Award for Best Cinematography (2022), Best Cinematography in a Foreign Film at the Gianni di Venanzo Awards (2022) and has held Screenings and Q+A's at Camerimage Festival.

Often shooting on 16 and 35mm film, Eli believes in cinematography that is simple and graceful - his visual approach always begins from the minds of the characters - the world as perceived through their eyes. He works worldwide but currently resides in Reykjavik with his partner and son.
